Traditional
music of Central Africa

cultural wealth of the African continent
due to the variety and virtuosity of its
artists. Ethnical variety of the Central
African Republic is most likely one of
the reasons for this rich cultural heritage
known all over the world. |

Climate
Climate is tropical (wet in the south, dry in
the north), almost evenly divided into two seasons:
- rain season from May to October ;
- dry season from November to April.
It is recommended to have adapted clothes: so
called tropical shorts, bermudas, linen trousers and
shirts, tee-shirts, light pullovers for the evening
and dawn hours which may be cool during the dry season.

The
Central African Republic
The Central African Republic (CAR) or Central Africa,
in the language of chango: Ködörösêse
tî Bêafrîka or Bêafrîka,
where-of the capital – Bangui, was named considering
historical reasons and its geographic location in the
heart of Africa (see the map).

Surface
of the country - 622 984 sq. km bordered by five states:
Sudan in the east, Chad in the north, Cameroon in the west,
the Republic of Congo and the Democratic Republic of Congo
(former Zaire) in the south. |

Its location at the verge of two climatic zones,
saharan in the north and equatorial in the south,
makes the country rich in varieties of natural
resources to the benefit of many types of agriculture,
fishery and animal breeding.
Crossed by numbers of rivers, covered by thick
extended an humid forests, favored by a rich
underground full of diamonds, gold and other
minerals, the CAR has a fortune at its hand
and it’s potential should be sufficient
to cover the needs of its population.
Today the population is estimated to 3,3 millions,
63% of which are rural and 37% - urban population.
So, the population of the Central African Republic
is not large. Main products are coffee, cotton,
tobacco.
